Komorebi refers to the warm and dancing stream of sunlight that filters in through the forest canopy. Through layering techniques using watercolours, colour pencils and marker (mix media), we will explore bringing a forest bathing scene to life.
We’ll begin with an introduction to simple watercolour techniques, focusing on the wet-on-wet method, where pigments blend and flow freely. We may then explore creating a larger piece, incorporating free-flowing brushstrokes to allow colours to merge naturally.
As we explore nature’s unstructured forms through our own artistic lens, we’ll observe how water and pigment create spontaneous, unique patterns, mirroring nature’s effortless rhythm.
This beautiful experience encourages us to release control, let go of expectations, and appreciate the beauty that arises when we embrace imperfections.
