Introducing our new Fridays at the Shala series, where we invite you to join us in the exploration of extended 90 minute classes which include both class types within our usual class offerings, as well as more meditative experiences. These sessions are usually scheduled once a month on Fridays at 7.15pm, and may differ in timing if it falls on a Public Holiday. Yoga Seeds members may attend these sessions with a valid pass.
Ashtanga is a traditional Vinyasa based fixed sequence. Join Wendy for a glimpse into the Ashtanga Primary Series. Experience the method that incorporates deep, even breathing and steady gazing with continuously flowing, prescribed movements (Vinyasa), facilitating a daily yoga and meditation practice. This invigorating practice covers the fundamental standing sequence, selected seated and closing postures of the Primary series.
Notorious for being a fast-paced, rigorous, challenging and highly structured type of yoga that is sure to raise one's heart rate, Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is adopted by many as a potent tool to instil self-discipline, strengthen the mind and body, improve focus, balance, coordination while calming the mind.
The sound philosophy behind, as well as the specific method of practice taught in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, certainly helps one to develop a routine of self-discipline and a deep sense of contentment and inner peace through apparent physical and mental changes as we gain a strong and healthy mind and body.

About Wendy Chan
Wendy's background and interest in eastern and western philosophy led her to explore and study the workings of the universe's mind, body and subtle energies. This exploration led her to realise her true calling - to teach and share yoga and meditation. With diverse training in yoga and meditation in different traditions, Wendy seeks a balanced and complete view of one's practice and spiritual development.
Founder and lead trainer of Yoga Seeds, Wendy leads the Yoga Seeds Shala's teaching team and the Yoga Seeds Teacher Training Program faculty. She curates and designs yoga curriculum, programs and activities for Yoga Seeds classes, retreats, training and workshops in locations all over Asia to spread the seeds of yoga wherever she can. Her curiosity and love for travelling and nature has led to her continued discovery of different genres of yoga and meditation.
As an ambassador for Yoga Gives Back, she organises regular fundraisers and classes for charity. She is deeply committed to giving back to the community through our Karma Yoga Projects.
Wendy's style of yoga is a unique blend of Classical, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, emphasising the breath in both movement and stillness. She teaches anywhere she can unroll her mat, and her love for nature has brought her much inspiration - be it from her diving adventures or mountain hikes.
